To celebrate the success stories of various DOST-funded and -generated technologies, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) published “Made Lokal,” a compilation of the commercialization stories of technology adopters and spin-off companies.
Made Lokal is a compilation of DOST technology commercialization stories
Through the Technology Transfer Day Project, the publication features the technologies, the people behind the development and adoption, and the process on how the technologies came to fruition.
The ready-to-eat arroz caldo, considered as a food solution during emergencies and disasters, developed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (DOST-ITDI) is one of the technologies featured.
Also, the LPG-fired spray dryer by the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) which converts liquids into dry powder by rapid drying using hot gas, and the carrageenan plant growth promoter by the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) which increases plants’ yield up to 30 percent, were included.
The inspiring stories of the technology generators in overcoming challenges and hardships are highlighted to encourage readers to pursue their dreams and mark their own paths.
The Made Lokal Book will be launched on 27 July 2021 during the Week-Long Accomplishment and Culminating Activity of Special Projects via the DOST-TAPI Facebook Page.
